Situated half a mile from the main beach, this 100 year old farmhouse has three rooms (3 doubles and 1 family room). Well behaved dogs welcome.
Western House is a family run bed and breakfast situated in the picturesque Gower village of Llangennith. The bed and breakfast is the longest established in the village and offers unpretentious good value. The village is located at the Western edge of the rugged Gower Peninsula.
The area is famed for it’s stunning beaches and beautiful scenery. Western House is ideally located in the centre of the village being situated within comfortable walking distance of the local pub and beach. Please take a look at our recent video.
Pippa and Etienne have lived at Western House for the last 23 years and during this period they have gradually changed the 125 year old traditional Gower farmhouse to suit the needs of guests, with four en-suite bedrooms, two with sea views.
The house has featured in many interior design magazines and its bold and tasteful decor has been influenced by Pippa’s friend the ceramicist Mary Rose Young as well as the designer Kaffe Fassett.
There is plenty of off street parking in our yard. Guests are very welcome to use our beautiful beach themed garden, where they can enjoy an evening beer or coffee and by arrangement, use of our Mediterranean BBQ. All of our rooms have flat screen TVs along with complimentary tea & coffee, together with fridge storage. There is also good quality free wifi throughout the property.
Each of our guests will receive one of our delicious breakfast options, which includes either a traditional, vegetarian, vegan or continental breakfast. All of our food is locally sourced and all eggs are our freshly laid free range. We have numerous visitors for the nearby growing wedding venues, such as Oldwalls. Local taxis can be arranged on your behalf. We offer a complementary drop off for guests to pick up cars from either Fairy Hill or Oldwalls.
Steve and Pippa have an extensive knowledge of local beaches, surf conditions and walks and are only too willing to provide advice and guidance. Please see below a couple of pictures of our rooms. However, please visit the accommodation tab above for further room options.
Room charges start at £65 a night, based on two people sharing (off-season). Please note that in peak-season only two night minimum bookings at weekends tend to be accepted, but please still check availability.

Excellent stay room 1 (the attic) was great with sweeping views of the coast and countryside. Breakfast was cooked to order with quality fresh ingredients inc freshly laid eggs. The garden is well laid out and a peaceful sun trap. Pippa and Steve were great hosts we will return.
Never felt closer to home.. the beautiful family that runs this place made me feel like home.. beautiful colourful rooms and amazing tailored breakfast to suit any stomach. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area, Welsh hospitality at its best.
Really enjoyed our stay - very comfortable, great breakfast every morning. Loved the decor and feel of the BnB - not your average twee British BnB! Would definitely come again.
Pippa greeted us with a warm welcome. The room was stunning with sea views to match. I loved the decor, I spent much of my time enjoying the creativity and personal touches the house has and watching the sea views. Breakfast was very special with a wood fire as we ate the tasty breakfast, including eggs from her hens! Llangennith is a wonderful part of Wales and we look forward to returning soon to explore more. Thanks for making my birthday special. We look forward to staying at Western House again.
Pippa and Steve are great hosts and their home is wonderfully welcoming and relaxed. We loved the colourfulness and style of the decoration. The guest accommodation is beautifully planned and executed. Our room was cosy with an extremely comfortable bed and had views right down to the sea.

In order to secure your booking we prefer to take half of the total as a deposit. You can pay via Paypal, bank transfer or personal cheque. Please note from the date of booking, we can only hold the room for three working days.
Prices start from £35 per person per night, based on two people sharing. If you are a single person please e-mail us for a quote. If accepted single night stays may incur an additional fee. We reserve the right to only accept a minimum of 2 night bookings on weekends and 3 night bookings on Bank Holiday weekends, but please still enquire.
If you have to cancel the booking for any reason we will always try to arrange with you an alternative date using the deposit that you have already sent. If you are unable to do so, we will return the deposit, minus a £10 administration fee if we can re let the room. Please note any cancellations with less than 14 days notice, deposits will not be reimbursed or alternative dates arranged.
If for any reason you need to leave during your stay before the end of your booked dates we require full payment for the ‘booked period’ before you leave. Again, if we can re let the room we will refund you, minus the administration fee.
