From July 13 2020, it is likely that people will be able to book a self-contained holiday in Wales.
This morning, the First Minister of Wales said people are likely to be able to go on holidays to a rented cottage as of 13th July and that tourism businesses in Wales should start preparing for his announcement on lifting restrictions on self-contained accommodation in Wales in three week’s time (10th July 2020).
“If you have in Wales, a static caravan that’s got its own kitchen and its own bathroom, if you’re renting a cottage, if you’re going to a hotel that has turned itself into self-contained accommodation there’ll be a clear signal from me today that you should use the next three weeks to get everything you need in place. You’ll be able to start taking bookings for after 13th July.I am absolutely aware of the importance of that industry in so many communities in Wales and planning ahead will allow that industry to work with its local community as well.”Mark Drakeford, First Minister of Wales in an interview with BBC Radio Wales 19/6/20 7:17am

At the moment there has been no indication that any restrictions on Bed and Breakfast (B&Bs), guesthouses or campsites will lifted.
If you are making a booking for self-catering accommodation in the Gower area, then I always recommend that holidaymakers take out independent travel insurance that will cover them in the event of cancellation.Although I realise that many policies may now not cover events specifically relating to the pandemic, it is still important to take out travel insurance cover in case something else happens which prevents you from travelling.In most cases, property owners do request full payment unless they can re-let the period that you have booked.
In the meantime, please stay safe and please let others know that the lockdown restrictions that have been lifted in England so far, do not yet apply to Wales. The 5 mile rule is still in place until 6th July.
