A website that aims to photograph every square kilometre of the UK

I’d never heard of this site before, but my attention was drawn to it this morning.  The Geograph website (http://www.geograph.org.uk/), which is sponsored by Ordnance Survey states:

“The Geograph® Britain and Ireland project aims to collect geographically representative photographs and information for every square kilometre of Great Britain and Ireland, and you can be part of it.”

So here’s another resource where you can see Gower, Mumbles and Swansea photographed by many different people over time.

e.g. The Gower Peninsula: http://www.geograph.org.uk/browser/#!/q=Gower+Peninsula

Rhossilihttp://www.geograph.org.uk/browser/#!/q=Rhossili

Oxwichhttp://www.geograph.org.uk/browser/#!/q=Oxwich

Mumbleshttp://www.geograph.org.uk/browser/#!/q=Mumbles

Swanseahttp://www.geograph.org.uk/browser/#!/q=Swansea

Penclawddhttp://www.geograph.org.uk/browser/#!/q=Penclawdd

You get the idea…  just search for a specific place that you are looking for.

It’s quite interesting actually, because some of the photos (depending upon where you are looking) go back over 70 years or more.
