Nestled on the lower slopes of Rhossili Downs, Sheep Green is a traditional Gower cottage in the village of Middleton, Rhossili. The cottage is the oldest habitation in the village and has been enjoyed by our family for generations. Situated in a quiet and peaceful location, Sheep Green has a large, private garden (ideal for children and pets) and enjoys uninterrupted sea views over the Gower coast and out to Lundy Island and North Devon.
The cosy but well equipped detached cottage sleeps 6 (2 double bedrooms & 1 room with bunk beds plus space for a cot) and has one bathroom, kitchen, dining room and lounge.
The kitchen is fully fitted with electric cooker, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle and toaster. There is a kitchen table and chairs as well as a high chair if required.
The separate dining room has a table and six chairs with an under stairs cupboard.
The lounge has two sofas and a chair, a TV and DVD player with a selection of books and DVDs for your enjoyment.
The fitted bathroom has a shower over the bath, hand basin and toilet with airing cupboard.
There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed and fitted wardrobes. The second bedroom has a double bed with wardrobe and drawer unit. The third bedroom has adult-sized bunk beds with a wardrobe and drawer unit. A travel cot is provided if required which can be used in the master bedroom. Bedding and bed linen are provided but visitors must bring their own beach towels and, if required, linen for the cot. There is also an iron, ironing board and (in the unlikely event that the central heating fails) electric oil-filled heaters.
In the front garden, there is a table and chairs with a further large upper lawn ideal for children and pets to run around. A washing line and pegs are provided in the garden.
The cottage provides the perfect base to explore the Gower coast. A 15-minute walk through beautiful countryside takes you to local bays – Mewslade Bay and Fall Bay – and to Rhossili beach. Local amenities in Rhossili and within walking distance from the cottage include: The Worms Head Pub, The Bay Bistro and the National Trust Shop. For the more adventurous, a longer walk will take you to neighbouring Llangennith – either along the beach from Rhossili, or up and over the Downs from the cottage. In Llangennith, drop in for a pint at the Kings Head Inn, or check out PJs Surf Shop. For refreshments nearer Llangennith beach, visit Eddy’s Café Bar at Hillend campsite. If you head towards Port Eynon, stop for fish and chips or just dip your toes in the rock pools along the beach.
The Gower was the first area in the UK to be designated an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ for good reason. Many come to walk, surf, para glide, trail run or climb. Others marvel at the breath-taking sunset views over Rhossili beach, which have been voted amongst the best in the world. Most come to relax and wind down and enjoy the glorious peace, quiet and fresh air.
Sheep Green has satellite television and a DVD player (with a selection of DVDs for all the family) for those in need of relaxation after a day’s adventuring. The nearest local shop is at Scurlage, just by the holiday village, which stocks all essentials and is a short drive away. Scurlage also offers a doctor’s surgery, a pharmacist, and a fish and chip shop. The swimming pool and small soft play area in the holiday village at Scurlage is open to non-camping visitors for a small cost.
We look forward to welcoming you to Sheep Green.
